Spider Man star Alexis Ortega has died aged 38 (Picture: Victor Chavez/ Getty Images) Mexican actor Alexis Ortega – who was best known as the Latin American voice of Spider-Man – has died.

The news about Ortega’s death was announced by World Dubbing News on Tuesday.

A statement sharing the news read: ‘We regret to announce the sensitive passing of voice actor Alexis Ortega, we send our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues in this difficult time.’

His cause of death wasn’t immediately disclosed.

The actor was born in Mexico in 1987, beginning his career as both an onscreen performer and voice actor in 2013.

He eventually began dubbing over Tom Holland in various Marvel movies, including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War.

Moviestore/ Shutterstock) The actor also worked on several Disney movies, providing Spanish dubbing for films like Big Hero 6 and Star Wars: Rogue One.

Soon after news of Ortega’s death was announced, fans rushed to pay tribute on social media.

‘Sad news. Way too young at 38. Rest in peace, Alexis,’ user Ilman posted on X.

‘Such sad news Alexis Ortega brought Spider-Man to life for so many fans. Rest in peace,’ Rechardo wrote.

‘It’s truly a loss when a talented voice brings so much life to a character we love. Alexis Ortega’s legacy will surely live on through his iconic performances,’ Victor shared.

On screen he also appeared in the shows Luis Miguel: The Series, Thursday’s Widows, El Candidato and The House of Flowers.

Other notable projects included working with MrBeast, dubbing Spanish versions of his videos.

The actor’s last Instagram post was shared in November last year, and showed him sitting on a couch cuddling his dog at his home in Mexico City. ‘My doggo,’ he captioned the photo.
