Uruguayan midfielder Carlos De Pena will continue his career in Brazil. The former football player of Dynamo Kyiv became a player of Sport Recife, which plays in the second division of the country’s championship.

The 33-year-old midfielder joined the Brazilian club as a free agent and signed a contract until the end of November 2026.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, De Pena maintained his form in the Uruguayan Nacional, but he never signed a full-fledged contract with the club. In April 2022, he became a player for Internacional, later played for Bahia, and in 2024 defended the colors of Curitiba. Last season, the Uruguayan played 29 matches, scoring one goal and two assists.

Sport Recife finished last season in Serie A and was relegated to Serie B.

Carlos De Pena played for Dynamo in 2019–2022. During this time, he played 102 matches in all competitions, scored 19 goals and provided 19 assists.
