The first pair of men’s 1/2 finals of the Australian Open 2026 has been announced

The men’s singles top draw quarter-finals took place on 27 January at the 2026 Australian Open.

Hispanic Carlos Alcaraz in three sets dealt with the Australian Alex de Minaur, and the representative of Germany Alexander Zverev defeated the American Lerner Tien.

Alcaraz will play in the semifinals of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. Carlos now has a total of 10 Grand Slam semifinals and will be seeking his eighth major final.

Zverev will also hold his 10th Slam semifinal, including his fourth in Melbourne. Alexander has played three previous GS finals (no trophies) and is last year’s Aus Open finalist.

Previously, Alcaraz and Zverev crossed each other 12 times – the score was 6:6. At Grand Slam tournaments – three times (2:1 in favor of Zverev).
