– If we distance ourselves from the Russians at all competitions, then over time there will be no representation of Ukraine on the international arena. After all, we see that Russian athletes are already allowed to participate in some sports, even under their flags.
They start with young people, and eventually allow adults to perform. All this looks as logical as possible. Or as in judo: Belarusians were first admitted. We looked at the reaction of the public. And then the Russians were admitted.
Ukraine, of course, wrote protests. But our allies and partners, after four years of full-scale war, no longer react so sharply to something like this in sports.
Of course, because of this, there is no acute perception of injustice from the international community. Therefore, I understand the situation at PSG. I don’t really follow football, but I heard about this story back when our boy was moving to a French club.
If Safonov was already in the team, Zabarny had to decide immediately. Either you switch and play, or you don’t switch at all. It would be illogical to go to PSG and wait for Safonov to leave the team or his career to end. Everyone takes this step for themselves and bears their own responsibility.
Therefore, I have no complaints against Zabarny in this respect. The guy moved to a strong club, is building a career. Someone will criticize him. But many would like such a sports career when you are bought by one of the best football clubs in the world, Beleniuk concluded.
