The DTEK company initiates the procedure for the early termination of the contract with the state-owned company Energoatom after the appearance of the statement of the chairman of the parliamentary committee on energy and housing, Andriy Gerus, about the possible withdrawal of about 2 billion UAH for the benefit of private traders, among whom is D.Trading.
This is stated in the company’s message.
“D.Trading officially appealed to the state energy generating company Energoatom with a proposal to stop further performance of mutual obligations under the contract concluded as a result of the last auction, with the consent of the parties,” the company reported.
D.Trading notes that the decision was made due to critical assessments of the expert environment regarding the external circumstances and conditions of the auction, which did not depend on the company. Therefore, the company considers it correct to “initiate the procedure for early termination of the contract with Energoatom, since the circumstances under which it was concluded have become the subject of public discussions.”
According to Yury Nikolov, editor of the publication “Our Money”, “Akhmetov’s company could earn approximately UAH 400 million on this equipment by the end of January, but after the final termination of the agreement, this will not happen. And “Energoatom” can quickly put the unsold volume of energy up for sale at the market price.”
He also noted: “Akhmetov had a big fortune, but it was only 20% of the whole pie.” “Options” worth another 1.5 billion hryvnias were sold there. Which, unlike DTEK, no one is in a hurry to give up.”
Yuriy Nikolov asks who will force Energoatom to cancel the rest of the agreements “for the discharge of electricity at a cheap price”, because a total of 60 companies have become buyers of electricity.
