Since 2022, more than 62,000 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been trained under the program, and the financing of the operation has been extended until the end of 2026.”

Details: The department emphasizes that the main goal of the training is the quick and systematic preparation of Ukrainian fighters for the conditions of modern high-intensity warfare.
The training process takes place on British training grounds under the leadership of the Armed Forces of Great Britain, but instructors from more than ten partner countries representing Europe, North America and Oceania have joined the mission. This approach allows combining various combat experience and standards of NATO countries.
Interflex’s basic course lasts several weeks. The program covers a wide range of skills that are critically needed on the battlefield. In particular, individual training of an infantryman, practice of tactical actions in small units, fire training and handling of weapons. Instructors pay special attention to engineering, mine safety, tactical medicine, as well as the specifics of combat operations in urban areas and trench warfare.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the program is constantly updated, taking into account the current combat experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and changes in the tactics of the Russian occupation forces.
For reference: Operation Interflex was the successor to the British Orbital mission, which operated in Ukraine before the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia. If the previous mission was focused on the long-term development of the capabilities of the Ukrainian army, then Interflex is adapted to the military realities and needs of the front “here and now”.
Prehistory:
- As you know, on the territory of Europe, training of the Ukrainian military takes place mainly within the framework of two programs – Interflex and the EUMAM initiative under the auspices of the EU.
- In August, the British Ministry of Defense warned that Russian spies can use drones for surveillance behind British military bases where Ukrainian soldiers are trained.
- At the end of November, the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain reported that 50,000 Ukrainian soldiers were trained as part of the Interflex mission.
