Medvedev’s ex-coach responded to Oliynykova’s words by supporting Ukraine

45-year-old French coach Lived Servarawho worked with Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev from 2017 to 2025, published a post on his Instagram with a reaction to the interview Oleksandra Oliynykova for L’Equipe:

“Alexandra, I cannot and do not want to remain indifferent to your life or to the lives of many other people who are in the same or a similar situation (and not only because of the war…)

It can happen to anyone on this planet sooner or later. My respect and admiration for the courage of your resistance,” Gilles wrote.

In an interview with L’Equipe, Oliinikova called Arina Sobolenko, Diana Schneider and Daniil Medvedev dangerous players in the Tour because they support their dictators – Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. This caused a certain reaction: Sobolenko, Schneider and Medvedev had to answer relevant questions at press conferences after the matches at the Australian Open 2026.
