The investigation established that on August 23, 2022, Petro Melnyk was declared unfit for military service by the results of the VLK in the Dnipro TCC of Kyiv and removed from the military register. At the same time, the materials of the criminal proceedings indicate that he was physically outside of Ukraine on that day.
According to official data on crossing the border, on March 8, 2022 at 22:42:38, Melnyk left Ukraine through the “OTACH – MOGHYLIV-PODILSKY AUTO” checkpoint, and on March 19, he was recorded crossing the Moldovan-Romanian border. After that, on August 26, 2022, he arrived on a flight from Tivat (Montenegro) to Chisinau, that is, three days after “passing” the VLK in Kyiv.
Thus, according to the documents of the VLK, Petro Melnyk was at the same time in the Dnipro TCC and thousands of kilometers from Ukraine. This chronology became one of the key pieces of evidence in the criminal proceedings.
