Svitolina goes on. Half of the Aus Open 2026 Women’s Round of 16 pairings have been decided

January 23 at Australian Open 2026 the 1/16 final matches took place in the upper part of the women’s singles grid.

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina defeated Diana Schneider and will next compete against another “neutral” – Mirra Andreeva. In the third round, Andreeva passed Yelena-Gabriela Ruse.

The world number one Arina Sobolenko won two tie-breaks against Anastasia Potapova. Viktoria Mboko will play next against Sobolenko, who defeated Clara Towson in the 1/16.

Third seed Coco Goff had a comeback win over Hailey Baptiste. In the fourth round, Koko will take the court against Karolina Mukhova – the Czech beat Magda Lynette.

Yuliya Putintseva and Iva Jovich will meet in another quarter-final clash at the top of the grid. Putintseva won against Zeynep Sonmez, and Jovic was knocked out by Jasmin Paolini.

The women’s singles bottom of the draw third round matches will take place in Melbourne on the 24th.
