The Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing large-scale personnel decisions in the State Border Service of Ukraine against the background of a corruption scandal. The changes will primarily affect the western region.
According to the interlocutor of RBC-Ukraine, a complete replacement of the commanders of border posts and checkpoints is planned.
The current managers will be removed from their positions, and military personnel with combat experience, veterans, as well as DPSU employees from other regions of the country will be appointed to their places.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs expects that such personnel decisions will reduce corruption risks at the border and strengthen control in the most sensitive areas. Official statements regarding the terms and scope of the rotations have not been made public at this time.
