The law enforcement officers informed about the suspicion of an employee of the Tulchyn regional territorial picking center for extorting $5,000.
This was reported by the Vinnytsia Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Southern region.
According to the investigation, the official promised the mother of the fallen defender for money to influence the process of registration of one-time state assistance after the death of her son. After receiving 190,000 hryvnias from the victim to a bank account, the suspect withdrew the funds in cash through the network of ATMs, trying to legalize the illegal profits.
The investigative actions established that the corruption scheme began as early as April 2023, when the woman offered her services to accelerate payments, and the actual extortion of funds took place at the end of the same year. Currently, the perpetrator has been removed from her duties, and a preventive measure has been imposed on her under the articles on abuse of influence and laundering of proceeds of crime. Law enforcement officers continue to check the involvement of other officials in this shameful activity.
The Kyiv District Court of the city of Odesa chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without bail for four persons, including three employees of the territorial picking center and a representative of a public organization.
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Prosecutor General’s Office, eliminated a large-scale channel of illegal release from mobilization in Kyiv, organized by the first deputy head of one of the district state administrations.
