According to Variety, among the main favorites for this year’s award were Paul Thomas Anderson’s film “One Battle After Another”, which previously won four “Golden Globes”, and Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners”, which, according to forecasts, can set a record for the number of nominations.

The short film “Rock, Scissors, Paper” made by British students about the war in Ukraine, Mstislav Chernov’s documentary “2000 meters to Andriyivka” and Anastasia Falileeva’s short animation “I died in Irpen” did not make the list.

At the same time, the film “Mr. Nobody Against Putin”, shot by David Borenstein in co-authorship with Russian film director Pavel Talankin, was nominated for the “best documentary”. It showed the strengthening of propaganda in Russian schools after the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.
