How does a thermocapsule work and what can it be made of?
Yuriy Kolesnyk calls his development “a house within a house”. According to him, to create such a structure, you need ordinary things that are in every home: a wardrobe, a table, dense fabric, cardboard or polyethylene. The main idea is to create a multi-layered protection with air layers that prevent the cold from penetrating inside.
The inventor recommends installing the capsule near the interior wall. Thanks to high-quality insulation, the temperature inside the structure rises from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius in just thirty minutes – exclusively from the presence of a person.
Kolesnyk compares his method to the ancient tradition of people using canopies over beds to keep warm in unheated rooms.
Five years ago, an engineer made such a thermocapsule on the first floor of his house from improvised materials. In winter, he sleeps in it – it is warm there even during frost and lack of heating.
The design retains heat thanks to the multi-chamber structure: the more protective walls with air layers, the less cold gets inside. The only important condition is regular airing of the capsule.
The inventor emphasizes that his developments are especially relevant now, when Ukrainian cities are left without light and heat due to shelling. He is convinced that every Ukrainian can create a similar thermal capsule from ordinary interior items and be warm even in the absence of centralized heating.
