“For the second time – right before Zelenskyi’s meeting with Trump – one of Zelenskyi’s closest associates has been arrested/indicted for corruption. This is becoming a good anti-corruption tradition,” Dmitriev said.
In this way, the special envoy of the Russian dictator commented on the information that the former deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Rostislav Shurma, received suspicion.
It will be recalled that the anti-corruption authorities announced the disclosure of a large-scale embezzlement scheme in the field of “green” energy. According to the investigation, the state lost more than 141 million hryvnias due to payments for electricity that was not actually produced. Among the suspects is the former deputy head of the Office of the President, Rostyslav Shurma.
Nine persons received suspicions in the case. Among them are the former deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and ex-member of the supervisory board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, his brother – the owner of a network of Ukrainian and foreign companies, a confidant of a former high-ranking official, managers and employees of controlled enterprises, as well as the former commercial director of Zaporizhia Oblenergo JSC.
