On the night of January 22, heating medium will be supplied to 3,260 residential buildings that were left without heating due to Russian shelling twice this month in Kyiv, the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko announced.

“Tonight, they will start supplying the heating medium to the houses that, due to shelling and damage to the infrastructure, were left without heating twice: on January 9 and 20. At the moment, there are 3,260 such houses. It will take approximately two days for heat to reach the homes of Kyiv residents,” Klitschko wrote in a telegram on the evening of January 21.

He reminded that water supply was restored to all consumers in Kyiv.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia has been striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

After the last massive attacks by the Russian Federation, the energy system of Ukraine is under a state of emergency, the most difficult situation, according to the President of Ukraine, is in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

In particular, in Kyiv, about 4,000 houses are still without heat, almost 60% of the city is without electricity, additional measures and additional resources are needed for their restoration, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said after the energy selector on January 21.
