“German federal prosecutors reported the arrest in Brandenburg of a Russian citizen and a German citizen, who are suspected of supporting the pro-Russian groups “DPR” and “LPR” through funding and delivery of equipment to Donbas”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The residences of the suspects are being searched.
“Since 2016, Suren A. and Falko G. held leading positions in the association that organized the transportation of supplies and medical equipment, as well as drones to Donbas for the benefit of militia members of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics… Suren A. directed more than 14,000 euros to the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.” In addition, he financed the transportation of goods for local militias. Falko H. traveled to Donbas several times for negotiations with representatives of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics” and accepted delivery orders. He also regularly participated in the distribution of goods on the spot,” the prosecutors inform.
On January 22, the accused will be brought before the investigating judge of the Federal Court, who will issue arrest warrants and choose a preventive measure.
“Donetsk People’s Republic” and “Luhansk People’s Republic” are pro-Russian groups that in the spring of 2014 claimed control over parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the aim of secession from Ukraine and engaged in intense fighting with the Ukrainian military. At the end of 2022, they were integrated into the command structure of the Russian armed forces.
