The leader of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko said that she herself does not have the funds to pay a bail of 33 million hryvnias. Tymoshenko emphasizes that she did not ask for help with this, and it is not known how everything will end, she said during the break of the court session regarding the seizure of her funds.
I personally do not have such funds, at this moment I cannot contribute my finances. But I know that my whole team — my deputies, and party members, and all regional structures… I didn’t ask them for help… the whole party is working to prevent them from arresting me after all,” she said.
As of Tuesday, according to the mass media, 13.5 million hryvnias of bail has been deposited for Tymoshenko, the rest of the amount must be collected within a day. The politician added that the setting of such large bails, which a person cannot pay, is often done on purpose, so that in case of non-payment, the suspect can be arrested. “By setting such colossal bails that a person cannot pay, they mean that the bail will not be paid and then they can be thrown in jail,” she explained.
On Wednesday, the High Anti-Corruption Court will consider the issue of confiscation of Tymoshenko’s property. At the meeting, she asked the court not to impose a seizure on her account and to close the case due to the lack of a crime. “The seizure of the account will not allow me to live normally, to work normally,” the politician stressed, adding that she has only one hryvnia account at Oschadbank.
