“In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have tried to advance on the positions of Ukrainian units 31 times. The enemy attacked in the areas of Rodynske, Chervyn Liman, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyna, Udachne, Molodetske, Filia, Dachne in the direction of Novopavlivka. One battle is still ongoing,” the message reads.
According to the General Staff, hostilities also continued in the South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivsk, Oleksandrivsk, Gulyaipilsk, Orihivsk directions.
On January 19, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that a grueling confrontation continues in the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration area – about half a hundred battles take place here every day. According to him, the enemy is pulling up reserves to Pokrovsk, looking for opportunities to break through the Ukrainian defense both through sporadic mass assaults and through covert advances by small infantry groups.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
