The court still hasn’t started considering the case regarding the Brovary plane crash that happened three years ago and took the lives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs leadership. Sessions in the case are constantly postponed, and the one scheduled for January 20 was postponed due to a power outage in the Pechersk District Court – the next one will take place only in March. The case consists of at least 169 volumes, and five employees of the Special Aviation Detachment of the Operative and Rescue Service of Civil Protection (ORSCZ) of the State Emergency Service from the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv Region, have been charged.
Knowledgeable participants in the case reported this in a hromadske comment.
Four of them are accused of violating the safety rules of air transport flights, which caused the death of people (Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code): Ivan Korobko, head of the Department of Aviation and Aviation Search and Rescue of the State Emergency Service; Volodymyr Leonov, v. at. the commander of the special aviation unit; Oleg Ivanov, deputy commander for flight training; Andriy Dvornyk, commander of the special purpose helicopter squadron.
The head of the flight security service of the same unit, Yan Koshman, is charged with official negligence that caused serious consequences (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
We will remind you that on January 18, 2023, the helicopter of the State Emergency Service took off from Kyiv and at 08:20, while flying over Brovary, fell in a residential area next to a kindergarten and a high-rise building. As a result of the fall, a fire started, buildings and civilians were damaged.
Since the helicopter crash with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on January 18, 2023 in Brovary, the investigation has collected 163 volumes of the case.
We will remind that on January 18 at 08:20 in Brovary during the altitude gain the helicopter fell DSNS EC-225 Super Puma to the territory of the kindergarten. A fire broke out at the crash site, which was contained an hour later.
In August, the State Bureau of Investigation reported on determining the circle of persons who are considered to be the main culprits in falling helicopter with the top leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on January 18. Then 14 people died.
