Former Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi may be one of the party’s unofficial financial donors All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivshchyna”. This is reported by UA.NEWS sources in the context of criminal proceedings against the party leader Yulia Tymoshenkowho is accused of offering illegal benefits to people’s deputies.
According to the investigation, as part of the searches in the central office of “Batkivshchyna”, law enforcement officers seized money, equipment and documentation. At the same time, interlocutors of the editorial office claim that part of the financing of the party’s activities could come from persons connected with Verbytskyi.
After his dismissal from the Prosecutor General’s Office amid investigations into illegal enrichment, Dmytro Verbytskyi joined the Odesa branch of “Batkivshchyna” and, according to sources, was considering participation in future election campaigns. His common-law wife, Kristina Ilnytska, headed the party’s youth organization, and family members began to appear regularly at party events.
Verbytskyi himself disappeared from public space after the announcement of Yulia Tymoshenko’s suspicion and does not comment on the situation.
