This information was confirmed by the border guards, pointing out the significant age difference between the spouses and the long-term lack of convincing answers to questions about their life together.
“A married couple arrived from Ukraine: a 62-year-old woman with a disability and her 25-year-old husband, who officially registered their relationship only two months ago. Despite the significant difference in age, they were convinced that for true love, the numbers in the passport do not matter. However, during the border control, the “newlyweds” could not give a coherent answer to the questions about their common life and the circumstances of their acquaintance. Under the pressure of indisputable facts, the man admitted: there was not even close to any romance,” the message reads.
It turned out that the marriage between them was concluded only two months ago, by prior agreement, since the woman is a friend of the young man’s mother. She offered $1,000 for assistance in going abroad, and before the trip, they exchanged documents with a biography to create a believable legend.
The border guards recorded this incident and sent the materials to the National Police, identifying signs of a crime under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“To make the legend look convincing, the spouses exchanged files with a detailed biography in advance, which should have been studied before the trip,” notes the Mogilev-Podilskyi border detachment.
Further, border guards, together with law enforcement agencies, continue to investigate the problem of illegal transportation of persons across the state border, which has become a serious threat to the national security of Ukraine.
