Direct speech of the minister: “The Republic of Moldova will no longer be an official member of the CIS. And this process has already begun. We recently made this decision, the approval process has begun, and at the beginning of the new session of the parliament, the documents on the denunciation of these agreements will reach the legislators.”
Details: He explained that these processes will probably be completed in the government by “the middle of February”, after which this decision will be made in the parliament.
Moldova has signed a total of approximately 283 agreements within the framework of the CIS, of which 71 have already been denounced, and about 60 others are in the process of being denounced, Popshoy said.
According to him, most of these agreements are outdated, no longer applicable and were previously rejected by other CIS members without practical consequences.
Despite this, Popshoy noted that Moldova will not refuse agreements that bring it economic benefit and do not contradict the country’s European integration.
