What to do when everything around is collapsing? Ukraine knows the answer

Ukraine is a source of experience, innovation and inspiration: key theses of Ulyana Khrom’yak’s speech in Davos.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua

The speech of the executive director of the Ukrainian House in Davos, Ulyana Khrom’yak, at the official opening of the pavilion, which took place on January 19, 2026.

Ukraine today is not only an object of sympathy, but a source of experience and solutions that we can share after four years of full-scale war

For 1425 days, the heart of Ukrainian stability, struggle and hope for a just and lasting peace has been beating. Ukraine sounds, looks and feels different.

Why does the world need Ukraine? Why does it matter? Not only because of the war. Not because of politics. And definitely not out of pity.

Firstly, Ukraine is here to share. Share your security and technological innovations – those born and tested in the harshest reality. Those who created under pressure, in blackouts, in conditions of uncertainty and constant upheaval.

I will give several examples. In 2025, the production potential of Ukraine’s defense industry will reach 35 billion dollars.

Ukraine produces 10 million drones per year, which provide up to 80% of hits on the battlefield.

Ukraine is the first country in the world to officially establish an Unmanned Systems Force, and most of these systems are produced domestically.

But the ability to build under pressure goes far beyond defense. And it is not about experiments, but solutions tested by reality and the harshest conditions. We are already testing what the world is just starting to prepare for.

Second, Ukraine is here to form a new business culture.

We can offer the world a new way of thinking—a different approach to investing, building companies, scaling, and working in the face of uncertainty. Flexible. Decentralized. It is not aimed at comfort, but at stability.

A few more examples. Telecom infrastructure in Ukraine supports more than 50 million active connections. The agricultural sector provides food for about 600 million people in the world.

In 2025, contrary to all negative scenarios, the Ukrainian banking system demonstrated a record growth of net lending by 30% in the corporate and retail segments, proving that the country is investing in its own future.

Ukraine is also a strategic supplier for the world economy: 117 names of critically important minerals; 50% of the world’s neon, including 90% of the semiconductor neon used by the US chip industry. The combination of what we have underground and what we have on the surface, together with our business culture and mindset, makes us not only sustainable, but irreplaceable.

And thirdly, Ukraine is here to talk about people who inspire. More than a million soldiers defend our freedom and future every day. They inspire those who work, build, save lives and keep the country moving. Teachers who conduct classes in underground schools. Rescuers, firefighters and doctors entering the destroyed buildings.

We are infinitely grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the fact that the voice of Ukraine is heard here and on many other world platforms.

Unfortunately, we have suffered huge losses. Thousands of Ukrainians died in this war. We remember the dead. And we work for those who will rebuild Ukraine.

And when the world asks: “What to do when everything is falling apart?”. We know the answer. And ready to share it.

In the coming days, the Ukrainian House in Davos will become a place where conversations turn into actions, partnerships and signed agreements. A place where the future of Ukraine is emerging.

We are honored to be this platform — a space of trust where governments, investors, businesses and institutions work together on long-term solutions for Ukraine.
