The police detained a 23-year-old resident of the capital, who tried to get rich by blackmailing the Ukrainian artist Olena Topoli, known under the pseudonym Alyosha.
According to the National Police, the attacker possessed compromising information and demanded money from the singer for confidentiality. Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations and investigators of the Kyiv region police detained the person involved in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, declaring him a suspect under the article on extortion. Currently, the search for other persons who may be involved in the crime is underway, and the detainee faces up to 12 years in prison.
Singer Alyosha officially confirmed the fact of blackmail, noting that threats and demands for money began to arrive on January 10, 2026. The attackers not only demanded a financial reward, but also tried to obtain compromising information on her relatives. After a part of the video got into the network, the artist said that she is not going to be ashamed of her body or hide, because the responsibility for defamation lies exclusively with criminals. She emphasized her principled position not to be manipulated and immediately turned to law enforcement agencies to protect her rights.
