Scandal in the CAN final: the coach of Senegal interrupted the press conference

Coach of the national team of Senegal Pope Tiav was severely criticized by representatives of the Moroccan press. Journalists did not like his order to bring the players to the locker room after a penalty was awarded to the Senegalese in the final match of the African Cup against Morocco (1:0).

Having found himself at the epicenter of tension and outrage from the media, the Senegalese specialist decided to refuse to participate in the press conference. He left the premises to the accompaniment of continuous complaints that journalists shouted at him.

We will remind you that after the ambiguous decision of the referee to assign a 11-meter kick, Pap Tiav took his wards off the field as a sign of protest. After some time, Sadio Mane convinced the team to come back, but Braim Diaz executed the penalty with a “miss” right into the hands of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. In extra time, a well-placed strike by Pap Gueye gave Senegal the final victory in the match.
