According to the agency, late in the evening of January 16, a 41-year-old woman in a state of alcohol intoxication knocked over 13 metal structures with portraits of fallen Heroes, which were installed in the center of Rivne.
She was notified of the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Part 1 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). A Rivne citizen faces a fine of one to two thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, or probation supervision for a term of up to 5 years, or restriction of freedom for the same term.
The regional police clarified that during the investigation, the perpetrator stated that she did not regret what she had done, but apologized to the mothers of the deceased defenders. According to the woman, the portraits annoy her because they remind her of the war.
