Details: Regarding the “Peace Council” announced by US President Donald Trump, the White House reports that “Trump welcomed the creation of the National Committee on Gaza Management (NCAG), which is an important step forward in the implementation of the second phase of his comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza – a 20-point action plan to achieve lasting peace, stability, recovery and prosperity in the region.”

The “Peace Council” itself was headed by Trump. Its members included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Representative Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and American investors Robert Gabriel and Mark Rowan.
NCAG will be led by former Palestinian Authority government official Ali Shaat.
The committee will work together with the Gaza Executive Council, which includes members of the “Peace Council”, as well as Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari negotiator Ali Al-Tawadi, Egypt’s intelligence chief Hassan Rashad, UAE Minister of International Cooperation Reem Al-Hashimi, Bulgarian diplomat Nikolai Mladenov, Cypriot-Israeli developer Yakir Gabay and UN Special Coordinator from the Middle East peace process Sigrid Kaag.
NCAG will be chaired by Dr. Ali Shaat, a widely respected technocratic leader who will oversee the restoration of essential public services, the rebuilding of civilian institutions, and the stabilization of daily life in Gaza, while laying the foundations for long-term, self-sustaining governance. Dr. Shaat has extensive experience in public administration, economic development and international cooperation and is widely respected for his pragmatic, technocratic leadership and understanding of Gaza’s institutional realities.
The White House statement added that “each member of the Executive Council will oversee a specific case that is critical to the stabilization and long-term success of Gaza, including, but not limited to, governance capacity building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment attraction, large-scale financing and capital mobilization.”
It is also reported that Mladenov will serve as the high representative in Gaza.
“To ensure security, preserve peace and create a sustainable environment free from terror, Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF),” the White House said in a statement.
The Trump administration also said that other members of the Gaza Executive Council will be announced in the coming weeks.
What preceded: Trump announced the formation of a “Peace Council” that will oversee the post-war administration of the Gaza Strip, as well as the formal transition to the next phase of a 20-point peace plan for the region.
Let me remind youat: A cease-fire in the Gaza Strip officially began at noon on October 10, when the Israeli army said it had withdrawn troops to agreed deployment lines as part of a deal with Hamas to release all hostages held by the terrorist group.
In early December, Qatar said that negotiations on the US-backed ceasefire in the Gaza Strip were in a “critical” phase, and that the ceasefire was not being fully implemented by either side.
It was previously reported that the Palestinian Authority continues to pay cash aid to convicted terrorists and their families, despite official commitments to Great Britain and the European Union to stop this practice.
