Ukrainians started receiving fake messages allegedly from Oschadbank and energy companies about compensation for power outages. The chairman of the board of the bank, Serhii Naumov, warned that this was a fraudulent scheme and urged not to follow suspicious links.
Criminals send messages offering to receive compensation for power outages, using the name of a bank and energy companies. “Oschadbank” does not send messages with links to third-party sites, does not issue compensation through messengers, does not ask to enter card or bank account data through such links,” Naumov emphasized.
He called on Ukrainians to be cautious, not to click on suspicious links, not to transfer personal or financial data to third parties, and to verify all information exclusively through the bank’s official channels. “We live in conditions of constant challenges, and, unfortunately, fraudsters take advantage of this,” added the head of Oschadbank.
Fraudsters often disguise themselves as government agencies or large companies in order to inspire trust and get users to hand over data or money. The bank urges everyone to check sources and not to bet on promises of easy money through messengers.
