As reported in the press service of the film distributor Green Light Films, the tape will be released in Ukrainian distribution on March 5, 2026.

In the film, Jolie plays Maxine, an American director who comes to Paris for Fashion Week, but her real mission is to reinvent herself. Amidst the glitter of catwalks and social intrigues, she goes through trials that will change her life forever. In the process, she unexpectedly finds herself involved in a new relationship with an old creative partner, and also crosses paths with two other women – the new star of the modeling world Ada, who is running away from a predetermined future in her native South Sudan, and the makeup artist Angel, who works in the shadows of the catwalks. Especially for this role, Jolie learned French.

It is interesting that the events of the tape unfold during the real Paris Fashion Week – with authentic locations and industry professionals. The tape was shot in the Chanel space, in particular on the legendary staircase on rue Cambon, but without branding – the fashion house remains fictional.

In addition to Jolie, the film stars Louis Garrel (“Dreamers”, “Young Godard”, the “Three Musketeers” franchise), Ella Rumpf (“Freud”, “The Sandman”), Garance Marillier (“Raw”, “Titan”), Finnegan Oldfield (“Corset”, “Alpha”) and model Anier Anei.

The film was directed by Alice Vinokur, one of the most influential figures of contemporary French auteur cinema, whose works are characterized by subtle psychological sensitivity. In 2011, she made her feature debut with Augustina, and later went on to make such critically acclaimed films as Maryland and Proxima.

“I like the world that is far from me – to project intimate stories onto it. In the case of fashion, I was interested not in what we see, but what is hidden behind the scenes – the process of creating images, work, the invisible side of the representation of femininity. I spent a year behind the scenes of a fashion show, got to know make-up artists, seamstresses, models outside the catwalk – from this, part of the film was born. I was impressed a mad rush for time: one collection replaces another, season after season. The ephemerality of this world is reflected in the fate of Angelina Jolie’s character, when at the height of the spectacular bustle her life unexpectedly changes direction,” said Vinokur about her new film.

The world premiere of “Couture” took place as part of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, but a wide audience will be able to see it only from the end of February this year.

The film currently holds a 6.2 out of 10 score on IMDb, while it has a 58% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
