Meghan McCain is coming for Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing her of trying to audition for a regular seat on ABC’s The View.

“I don’t care how often she auditions for a seat at The View – this woman is not moderate and no one should be buying her pathetic attempt at rebrand,” she wrote on X. Greene has made two appearances on the daytime talk show in the past few months.

Known for being a highly controversial political figure and former Republican congresswoman, Greene has been on an ongoing press tour, working to make over her political image. In recent months, she’s been shifting her tone from extreme far-right rhetoric to be more moderate and even distancing herself from President Donald Trump, for whom she was once an outspoken ally.

Despite McCain’s remark, a source tells The Hollywood Reporter that The View is not currently looking to add any new co-hosts to its table, which currently consists of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.

While McCain was once a co-host on The View for four seasons, known for bringing a conservative perspective to the daytime talk show, she departed the show in 2021. The TV personality has previously said she doesn’t watch the show since leaving, but also regularly makes comments about the program on her podcast, Citizen McCain.

McCain’s X comment about Greene was in response to a recent Axios report that alleged the Trump administration contacted the Secret Service about Greene after some White House officials claimed she may have tipped off protesters with the anti-war group Code Pink about Trump’s surprise visit in September 2025 to a DC restaurant she recommended to him.

“It’s legitimately so dangerous if Marjorie Taylor Greene did this. Code pink are a bunch of insane radicals and someone could have gotten hurt. This happened after the assassination attempts on President Trump,” McCain also wrote in her post.

Greene has denied the allegations, writing on X, “I’ll be calling my attorney. This is an ABSOLUTE LIE, A DANGEROUS LIE. I would NEVER do that.”
