Oleksandr Bornyakov temporarily took the post of Acting Minister of Digital Transformation.
Bornyakov worked as the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration / photo facebook/bornyakovThe government officially appointed Oleksandr Bornyakov as acting minister of digital transformation. This is stated in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
“To assign temporarily the duties of the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine to the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for European Integration Oleksandr Serhiyovych Bornyakov,” the order reads.
It is noted that before his appointment, Bornyakov worked as the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration.
Oleksandr Bornyakov – what is known Oleksandr Serhiyovych Bornyakov was born in the city of Bolhrad, Odesa Region. In 2007, Bornyakov founded the IT company SoftTechnics. In 2008, he founded the video ad monetization platform VertaMedia.
In 2015, Bornyakov was elected a deputy of the Odesa City Council. He became the head of the commission on economic, investment policy, trade, international relations and information technologies.
He was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for IT Development in October 2019. At the Ministry of Statistics, Bornyakov was involved in the “Diya.City” project, the uResidency electronic residency program, the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine, promoting the development of the crypto industry and strengthening the startup ecosystem. Since 2019, he has held the position of secretary of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Startup Fund. As a representative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Bornyakov coordinated the activities of the state defense technology cluster Brave1.
The release of Mykhailo Fedorov – the main news On January 2, it became known that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi offered the then head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov to become the new Minister of Defense.
On January 13, the Verkhovna Rada voted to dismiss Fedorov from the post of First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The appointment of Fedorov to the post of Minister of Defense means shifting the department’s focus towards technological warfare, i.e. scaling UAV production, accelerating the introduction of new developments, closer work with private manufacturers and startups, as well as the integration of digital solutions directly into combat processes.
