– The Verkhovna Rada appointed Denys Shmygal first deputy prime minister — minister of energy of Ukraine. For the previous six months, he held the post of Minister of Defense. He named restoration, stability and modernization as his priorities in the new position. People’s deputies appointed Mykhailo Fedorov, the former head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, to the post of Minister of Defense. Among his plans in office, he named, in particular, a comprehensive audit and a system solution to solve problems accumulated over the years in the TCC, as well as an audit of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces.
– President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that a state of emergency will be introduced in the Ukrainian energy sector. He also instructed the government to prepare a review of the curfew rules for extreme cold weather.
– Anti-corruption authorities have confirmed that Yulia Tymoshenko, head of the Batkivshchyna parliamentary faction, is suspected of offering illegal benefits to people’s deputies. Tymoshenko confirmed the searches in the party office, but rejected the accusations, stating that it was a purge of competitors in the elections and a political order.
– In the village of Rudne, near Lviv, a man shot several times at the minibus of the regional TCC. After that, the attacker drove away from the scene until he was found. No one was injured in the shooting, but the van was damaged. Investigators have started criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism.
– The Council extended martial law and mobilization for another 90 days.

INFORMATION FROM THE GENERAL STAFF OF THE ARMY REGARDING THE SITUATION AT THE FRONT (22:00)
Since the beginning of the day, 118 combat clashes have taken place. The enemy carried out 31 air strikes, dropped 71 guided air bombs, carried out 3,736 kamikaze drone strikes and 2,854 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
On Severno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, our soldiers repelled one attack by the Russian invaders, the enemy fired 105 shots, three of which were from rocket salvo systems.
On Yuzhno-Slobozhanskyi 13 combat clashes took place in this direction – in the Vovchansk, Zeleni districts and in the direction of the settlements of Grafske, Vovchansk Khutory, Krugle. Currently, there are four clashes going on.
On Kupiansky direction, the enemy carried out three attacks on the positions of our troops in the direction of Petropavlivka, Pishchany, Borova, two skirmishes are still ongoing.
On Lymansky direction, Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders 11 times in the areas of Zarichne, Karpivka, Novoselivka, Torske settlements and towards the Stavka, Drobysheve, Dibrova settlements. Four clashes are still ongoing.
On Slavic direction, today Ukrainian soldiers repelled five enemy attacks on our positions. Units of the occupiers tried to advance in the areas of Fedorivka, Sviato-Pokrovsky and towards Zakitny.
On Kramatorsk the enemy did not carry out offensive actions in this direction.
On Kostyantynivskyi today, the occupiers stormed the positions of our defenders 13 times in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultine, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopil’a, Shcherbynivka, and in the direction of Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, and Torskyi.
On Pokrovsky direction, the enemy made 23 attempts to push our units in the areas of Nikanorivka, Myrnograd, Kotlyne, Udachne, Filia and towards the Dorozhne, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Novopavlivka settlements. According to preliminary calculations, in this direction, our soldiers eliminated 50 and wounded 25 occupiers, destroyed one artillery system, three motorcycles, 55 unmanned aerial vehicles, two units of automotive equipment, a ground robotic complex, three shelters for personnel and one control point of unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, six artillery systems, five units of automobiles and one unit of special equipment, one EW device, two UAV control points and seven shelters of enemy personnel were damaged.
On Oleksandrovsky direction, the enemy attacked 10 times near the settlements of Sichneve, Zlagoda and in the direction of Ivanivka and Novy Zaporizhzhia. One battle is ongoing. Havrylivka was hit by an enemy airstrike.
On Gulyaipilskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers today repelled 17 enemy attacks in the Gulyaipol region and in the direction of Dobropill, Zeleny, Svyatpetrivka. The enemy launched an airstrike on Staroukrainka.
On Orihivskyi direction, one skirmish took place in the Primorsky area. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Ridzvyanka and Zaliznychny.
On Prydniprovskyi the enemy did not carry out offensive actions in this direction.
On other directions no significant changes in the situation were recorded.

“Recently held an energy meeting – the most important today. Many questions. Denys Shmyhal has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, his key task is to deal with the emergency situation in the energy sector now due to Russian strikes and harsh winter weather. We separately analyzed the situation in some of our cities – it is especially difficult in Kyiv. Also Odesa, Dnipro Oblast – Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and some other cities of ours regions. We see how much has been done, in particular, in Kharkiv. Unfortunately, much less has been done in the capital. And even these days, there must be a solution.
The state of emergency in the energy sector will be legally recorded, this will give more opportunities. The Cabinet of Ministers will maximally simplify everything related to the connection of backup power equipment to networks. Zero bureaucracy. Instructed to increase electricity import opportunities – all business opportunities. There should be more points of support for people in Kyiv and other cities – Points of Invincibility.
I instructed to revise the rules for the curfew: during an emergency, we can remove the curfew for some cities and communities. Where the security situation allows it, of course. Government officials should present appropriate proposals. So that people can get all the support they need at any time and so that businesses can plan their work more rationally.
