“We are responding (to Russian attacks. – “EP”) even now, because it is already terrible. These Russian missiles are weapons of death and destruction. We saw this the other day, when they were used in Lviv region. I consider it terrible,” Rütte emphasized.
He recalled that “last night we again saw hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that hit Ukraine.”
“In particular, now they are hitting civilian infrastructure, innocent civilians. This has nothing to do with the hostilities at the front. This is done only in order to sow panic and death among the civilian population of Ukraine. This is evidence of the atrocities that the Russians are ready to commit,” the NATO Secretary General stated.
He emphasized that this is why he “has such a strong motivation to do everything possible” to provide Ukraine “with the necessary interceptor missiles to shoot down these missiles wherever possible.”
“I ask the parliamentarians present here: work with your governments to thoroughly check their stockpiles. Find the necessary interceptor missiles for the Patriot, NASAMS and SAMP/T systems, because the Ukrainians need them immediately,” urged Mark Rutte.
As “European Truth” reported, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations Tammy Bruce called “inexplicable escalation” Russia’s use of the Oreshnik ballistic missile against Ukraine.
We will remind you that on Monday, January 12, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council initiated by the Ukrainian side took place, during which discussed massive Russian strikes on energy, as well as the use of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.
On January 13, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that counting on acceleration on the part of the USA and Europe, the transfer of aid packages to Ukraine after the last massive strikes by the Russian Federation.
