The former defender of London Arsenal can unexpectedly continue his career in the Turkish championship.

According to Sky Sport Italia sources, Lazio left-back Nunu Tavares has agreed to join Besiktas on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season. The agreement also includes a buyout option for the player, which will amount to 10 million euros.

It is noted that negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, the parties are trying to finalize the transfer as soon as possible. Last season, the 25-year-old Portuguese was one of Serie A’s best players in his position while on loan at Lazio. In the summer of 2025, the Roman club fully bought Tavares from Arsenal for 6 million euros.

In the current season, the defender played 10 matches for Lazio in all competitions, scoring one assist. In total, he has 10 assists in 40 games for the Eagles. According to Transfermarkt, the player’s transfer fee is 15 million euros.
