Earlier, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that Fenerbahce had already made an official offer to the French footballer. According to him, a meeting of manager Kante with representatives of the Turkish club is scheduled for January 13.
As noted by L’Équipe, Fenerbahce would like to complete the transfer already this winter, without delaying it until the player’s contract with Al-Ittihad ends. The 34-year-old midfielder’s deal with the Saudi club runs until the summer of 2026, but he already has the right to negotiate a future move.
At the same time, Al-Ittihad does not lose hope of keeping the footballer and is working on an option to extend the contract with the former Leicester and Chelsea player.
In the current season Ngolo Kante played 21 matches in all competitions for the club from Saudi Arabia and scored one goal.
