Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov turned to to the residents who were left without electricity due to the critical energy situation on the left bank of the city caused by the recent shelling of the infrastructure.

To restore power, which is currently impossible to provide by standard methods, local services have started using mobile generators, delivering them directly to high-rise buildings.

The complexity of the situation is aggravated by abnormally cold weather, with temperatures down to -12°C, which slows down the operation of equipment due to freezing of diesel fuel. Despite this, teams of energy workers have been working continuously for more than 72 hours.

Filatov emphasized the dedication of professionals involved in restoration work and assured residents that heat and water supply remain the main priorities.

Borys Filatov urged the residents who remain without electricity to remain calm and patient. He noted that despite the lack of light, the houses manage to maintain heat and water supply, which is a priority in such a cold weather. The mayor assured Dnipro residents that the authorities continue to look for non-standard technical solutions in order to stabilize the situation in the affected areas as soon as possible.

“Dear residents of Dnipro, who still have no electricity. I know it’s hard. But get it right: given the situation, the most important thing is that you have heat and water. And in order to deal with everything else, we will definitely come up with something,” Filatov wrote.

At the moment, more than 18,000 families remain without electricity in Dnipro, and the authorities are actively looking for alternative solutions for providing energy, especially for houses that do not have centralized heat and water.

The Government of Ukraine is introducing a new financial the initiative aimed at strengthening social protection and material incentives for energy workers working as part of emergency recovery teams in the winter of 2026.
