Details: An explanatory note to the document states that the United States must take measures to “protect its strategic interests.” The author of the initiative insists that establishing full control over the island is a matter of US national security, especially in the context of the struggle for influence in the Arctic region.

- The leader of Greenland’s government, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, and the leaders of key parties issued a joint statement: “This is something that the governing coalition in Greenland cannot accept under any circumstances.”
- Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen called the situation “a fateful moment” and warned that an attempt to seize the ally’s territory by force would mean “the end of NATO.”
- According to European media, Great Britain and EU countries consultations have begun regarding the possible placement of a limited contingent of NATO troops on the island to deter US ambitions.
