President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a number of personnel appointments, including the transfer of Ivan Rudnytskyi to the position of deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine and the appointment of new managers in Ternopil and Volyn regions.
According to the decrees of the head of state dated January 12, 2026, Ivan Rudnytskyi was dismissed from the position of the head of the Volyn regional state administration for further work in the central apparatus of the SBU. This decision strengthens the leadership of the special service with an experienced counter-intelligence agent who previously headed regional offices in Zakarpattia and Volhynia regions, and also has over twenty years of operational service experience.
At the same time, the Ternopil Region got a new leader — Taras Pastukh, who is a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war against the Russian Federation and a former People’s Deputy. Taras Pastukh has significant combat experience as part of the reconnaissance company of the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces, which is important for the region in the conditions of ongoing aggression from Russia. Roman Romanyuk, who previously worked as the deputy head of this region and is a candidate of economic sciences, is temporarily acting as the head of the Volyn Regional State Administration. These reshuffles in executive authorities and law enforcement agencies are aimed at optimizing public administration and strengthening security measures throughout the country.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced the change of heads of the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Ternopil, and Chernivtsi regional military administrations.
