A Christmas tree with drugs instead of toys: a foreigner suspected of selling them was detained in Kyiv

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers exposed a foreigner who, according to the investigation, was selling drugs through a closed Telegram channel and kept them at home, decorating the Christmas tree with bags.

Under the procedural guidance of the Shevchenkiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Kyiv, a 40-year-old citizen of Israel was informed of the suspicion of illegal acquisition for the purpose of selling narcotics and psychotropic substances in particularly large quantities.”

Details: According to the investigation, the man was looking for customers through a closed Telegram channel, and he sent orders by mail. He was detained at the post office while receiving another batch of goods, which he planned to package and sell.

During the search of the suspect’s apartment, the law enforcement officers seized about 200 grams of the powdered substance 4-MMS, amphetamine, LSD, MDMA, and almost a kilogram of cannabis.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the man did not hide prohibited substances – he decorated the Christmas tree with bags of drugs.

All recovered substances were sent for examination. The actions of the suspect were classified under Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention. The sanction of the article provides up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
