WTA ranking. Svitolina rose to 12th place, Kostyuk broke into the top 20

On January 12, the Women’s Tennis Association updated the WTA world ranking after hard tournaments (at the Tour level) WTA 500 in Brisbane and WTA 250 in Auckland.

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina won the New Zealand competition trophy and rose to 12th place, overtaking Linda Noskova.

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk played in the final of the Australian 500, where she lost to Aryna Sobolenko. Thanks to this result, Kostyuk added six positions and returned to the top 20, placing herself on the 20th line.

Veronika Podrez rose to the 283rd place in the updated WTA ranking and set a personal record.

Yulia Starodubtseva, Daria Snigur and Katarina Zavatska have also made some progress. Angelina Kalinina and Anastasia Soboleva lost positions, and Dayana Yastremska and Oleksandra Oliinikova remained in their places – the 27th and 90th rackets of the world, respectively.

There were several changes in the top 10 of the WTA rankings: Coco Goff regained the third place, passing Amanda Anisimov, Jasmin Paolini and Mirra Andreeva moved up to seventh and eighth places, moving Madison Keys to ninth, and Belinda Bencic entered the top 10 for the first time since 2023 and closes it.

In the WTA doubles ranking, Lyudmila Kichenok remains the first racket of Ukraine, who added three places and is now on the 27th position. Plus, Nadiya Kichenok (46th) took seven positions.

Marta Kostyuk is also in the top 100 of representatives of Ukraine – 88th.
