Details: Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has a plan for the defense sector, as well as for diplomacy.
“And it depends solely on the determination of the partners, which plan will become the main plan for the year. The war must be ended. For this, Russia must be put under pressure. Anyone who speaks the language of ballistics and “Shaheeds” will not understand anything but force. We are working so that the world acts effectively,” he said.
What preceded: On January 2, Zelensky proposed appointing First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov as the new Minister of Defense.
On January 5, Zelenskyi and Fedorov discussed the changes that he plans to implement in the position of Minister of Defense.
January 9 Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, announced that the parliament had received resignations from the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
Zelensky expects that the parliament will approve the candidacy of Denys Shmygal for the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.
The Verkhovna Rada will consider resignations and appointments during the plenary week of January 13-16.
