A football question on the air of the British quiz show “The Chase” caused confusion for host Bradley Walsh and expert Mark Labbett. Both admitted that they had not heard some of the nicknames before “Juventus”.
The question was: Which Italian club is known as the “Girlfriend (bride) of Italy”, “Lady Killer” and “Zebras”? The participant chose “Napoli”, while the correct answer turned out to be “Juventus”.
If the nickname “Zebra” is easily explained by the black and white shape, other names surprised even connoisseurs. “Friend of Italy” emphasizes the popular support of the Turin club, especially in the south of the country, and “Lady Killer” is an ironic variation of the famous nickname “Old Signora”.
Unusual names became an unexpected discovery not only for the participants of the show, but also for some football fans.
