Consumer inflation in Ukraine slowed to 8% year-on-year in December 2025, compared to 9.3% in November.
The data was released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, noting a certain stabilization of the price situation on the consumer market.
In monthly terms, prices increased by 0.2%, which indicates moderate dynamics.
In general, stability was recorded in the market of food products and non-alcoholic beverages — prices did not change during the month.
However, on an annual basis, the cost of food increased by 10.2%, which significantly affects the purchasing power of Ukrainians. Both price increases and decreases were observed among the main product categories.
In December, the price of eggs increased the most, the prices of which increased by 5.6%. Grain processing products, fish and fish products, bread and bakery products also became more expensive.
Consumers experienced an increase in the cost of sunflower oil, lard, vegetables, beef and milk — from 0.7% to 5.6%, depending on the category. On an annual basis, the prices of meat (by 21%), sunflower oil (by 17.3%) and fish (by 16.6%) increased the most.
At the same time, December brought good news to consumers — some products became more affordable. Fruit prices decreased by 4.1%, which is due to seasonal factors and the arrival of a new crop.
Sugar, poultry meat, pork, rice and fermented milk products also fell in price — the decrease was from 0.2% to 4.1%. Soft drinks and butter also showed price declines in the reporting period.
As a reminder, prices have been falling in Ukraine for the second month in a row.
It will also become more expensive to assemble a PC in 2026.
