Denis Shmyhal and John Gili signed a road map that defines the directions of defense cooperation between the two countries for the current year.
This document becomes a practical tool for the implementation of the Agreement on a one-year partnership concluded earlier between Ukraine and Great Britain.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian side informed its British partners about the consequences of Russia’s nighttime massive attack. Shmyhal emphasized that strengthening air defense and providing ammunition to air defense systems remains a key priority for Ukraine.
Great Britain has already made a significant contribution to strengthening Ukrainian defense capabilities against Russian terror.
An important topic of the negotiations was the expansion of production capacities. According to Shmyhal, since February, Ukraine has started production of a thousand Octopus interceptor drones every month.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of joint strategic industrial projects in the field of air defense and long-range weapons.
The prospects of localization of production of Swedish Gripen aircraft, which contain technologies of British companies, were considered separately.
As a reminder, Britain does not disclose the number of troops for Ukraine.
Also, Britain and Europe are not ready for a protracted conflict with the Russian Federation.
