As reported by Variety, the Golden Eve special event turned into a celebration of the series “Sex and the City” with an emotional reunion of its cast. Her husband Matthew Broderick and children came to support the actress, as well as colleagues from the cult series and its sequel “And just like that…” – Kristin Davis, Evan Gendeler and David Eigenberg, known to the audience for the roles of Charlotte, Harry and Steve.
It was Davis who took to the stage to introduce Parker, and broke down in tears as she spoke about their years of friendship and the importance of the series in their lives. During the evening, the audience was shown two video montages dedicated to Parker’s career – out of the image of Carrie Bradshaw and completely dedicated to the cult series. Kim Cattrall, with whom Parker has a long conflict, did not appear in the video, but the montage used iconic shots of the four heroines walking the streets of New York:
“I met Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, Samantha Jones and Miranda Hobbs and spent 25 years with the most wonderful ensemble of women and actors as we treated all of New York like CBS Television City and the streets like Studio 33. I cherish every 15 or 16 hours on set, every walk and conversation, every look in the eye in the hardest and As Christine once said, “You are in my bones.”
We will remind you that the enmity between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall has been going on for many years and dates back to the filming of the series. Despite the on-screen friendship of the heroines, the relationship between the actresses was strained behind the scenes.
