The Kichenok sisters lost to the top seeds in the semi-finals of the 500 in Brisbane

Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmila and Nadia Kichenok finished their performances at the WTA 500 hard tournament in Brisbane, Australia.

In the semifinals, the Ukrainian women lost in two sets to the first-seeded Xie Shuwei (Chinese Taipei) and Alonia Ostapenko (Latvia) in 1 hour and 19 minutes.

Kichenok held the first face-to-face confrontation against Xie Shuwei and Ostapenko.

Lyudmila and Nadiya managed to beat the duets Mia Kato / Fanny Shtollar and Iryna Khromacheva / Aleksandra Panova on the Brisbane courts. The Kichenok sisters played in the same pair for the first time since May 2025.

Xie Shuwei and Ostapenko will compete against Christina Bukshi and Ellen Perez, who are seeded at the third number, in the final of the Australian 500.
