The main event will be the 2026 World Cup selection playoffs and the World Championship itself, if Serhiy Rebrov’s team makes it there. In addition, the national team of Ukraine will play in the League of Nations and learn about the opponents in the qualification for Euro-2028.
WC-2026
On March 26, Serhiy Rebrov’s team will host Sweden in the semi-finals of the Path to the European playoffs, and in case of victory in the final, which will be held on March 31, they will fight with the winner of the Poland-Albania pair. Matches start at 21:45 Kyiv time.
The winner of Path B in the final tournament of the 2026 World Cup will play in Group F, where they will play three matches: on June 15 – in Monterrey with Tunisia, on the 20th – in Houston with the Netherlands and on the 26th – in Dallas with Japan.
League of Nations-2026/2027
The draw for the group stage of the next cycle in the League of Nations, 2026/2027, will take place on February 12 in Brussels. It is on that day that the Ukrainian national team, which will play in League B, will find out its opponents.
League B
Basket 1: Scotland, Hungary, Poland, Israel.
Basket 2: Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Ukraine.
Basket 3: Slovenia, Georgia, Ireland, Romania.
Basket 4: Sweden, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland, Kosovo.
The matches will be held from September 2026 to March 2027.
Euro-2028
The Ukrainian national team will find out its opponents during the draw for the qualifying tournament, which will take place on December 6 in Belfast (Northern Ireland).
12 qualifying groups of four or five teams will be formed. The tournament hosts (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales), seeded in different groups, will also take part in the qualifiers.
The 12 group winners and the eight best runners-up will advance directly to the Euro 2028 finals. Two places in the final tournament will be reserved for the two best-ranked host nations that do not qualify as group winners or best runners-up after the group stage of qualification.
The remaining places will be allocated through a play-off between the second-placed teams in the qualifying groups and the winners of the 2026/2027 Nations League groups that did not qualify for Euro 2028. Selection for the continental championship will begin in March 2027.
