Svitolina reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 tournament in Oakland, defeating Boulter

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina (WTA 13) advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 hard court tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.

In the second round, the Ukrainian lost in two sets Kathy Boulter (Great Britain, WTA 112) in 2 hours and 3 minutes.

Svitolina held the second face-to-face confrontation against Boulter. In 2020, Elina coped with Katie at the start of the Australian Open.

In the first round of Oakland, Svitolina defeated Varvara Grachova. Her next opponent will be either Ella Seidel (Germany, WTA 84) or Sonai Kartal (Great Britain, WTA 68).

For the second time in her career, Svitolina will play in the quarterfinals on the Oakland courts. In 2024, she reached the final of the New Zealand competition, where she lost to Coco Goff.
