Samsung presented a foldable display without a visible fold / iPhone Fold renderIt is likely that the folding iPhone will indeed be completely without a crease. The company Samsung Display showed at CES 2026 the first foldable display, which has a completely invisible curve line.
There are no official confirmations, however, according to AppleInsider, this development should form the basis of the iPhone Fold, which is being prepared for release in the fall of 2026. Samsung Display is known to be the main supplier of OLED screens for Apple smartphones.
Apple previously planned to create its own foldable screen, but at some point it ran into difficulties trying to remove the fold and find the perfect ultra-thin glass, which is why it turned to Samsung Display to produce panels for its first foldable iPhone.

Insider Ice Universe writes that the panel looks great in person, and “most importantly, it doesn’t have a single crease.” However, it is still impossible to say whether the screen without a crease will retain its properties after tens of thousands of opening and closing cycles.
In addition to the iPhone Fold, the same display without a fold should be received by the new Galaxy clamshells, including the Wide Fold with more “tablet” proportions.
According to various estimates, the folding iPhone could cost between 2,000 and 2,400 dollars, which is more expensive than the main competitors in the segment. The release is planned for the fall of 2026.
