It is noted that the draft resolution of the upcoming closed meeting of the CSU faction requires, in particular, a strengthening of the position regarding Ukrainian refugees.

“We will insist that able-bodied Ukrainian men contribute to the defense of their country. We demand that all asylum seekers, regardless of their country of origin, use their assets to cover the costs of their stay in Germany,” the project says.

The project will apply to Ukrainians who entered the country after April 2025 and are subject to the Law on Assistance to Asylum Seekers.

Changes regarding Syrian refugeesIn addition, the project requires the rapid return of the majority of Syrian refugees to their country of origin. The document refers to a “large-scale deportation operation” in 2026, which should take place “with the help of regular flights, including to Syria and Afghanistan.” This is explained by the fact that the civil war in Syria is over, and the country is recovering and receiving support from Germany.

“At the same time, the grounds for protection no longer apply to the majority of Syrians who received a temporary residence permit in Germany due to the war. They are needed in their homeland,” the document says.

Ukrainian refugees in Germany: what is knownIn October, it was reported that against the background of the lifting of the travel ban for Ukrainian men of conscription age from 18 to 22, the number of Ukrainian refugees in Germany has increased dramatically. The number of asylum seekers has reportedly increased from 100 to 1,000 per week.

Against this background, Bild previously reported that Germany plans to reduce payments for Ukrainian refugees. It is reported that this will apply to Ukrainians who arrived in Germany after April 1, 2025. They will not receive social assistance, which amounts to €563 per month.
